VIDYASTHALI ANNUAL REPORT 2012-13

The session began in April 2012 with 382 children coming from 48 villages and 17 teaching staff, 1 office assistant, 1 maid, 1 sweeper, 2 drivers, 2 conductors and 1 caretaker.

No. of students increased to 468 from 55 villages. 2 teachers and 1 helper were added to the staff list.

Renu Yadav, won the Kennedy Luther Scholarship under the Youth Exchange and Study Program of the US embassy. She is studying in Washington High school, South Dakota, Sioux Falls.  This year again students have applied for this scholarship and also Community College Scholarship.

Many inter-house events were organized like Hindi drama, English plays, elocution and declamation, singing competition, volleyball, Kho-Kho competitions and art- craft competition.

Children celebrated Independence Day, Republic Day, Teachers’ Day, and Children’s Day and all the festivals. School picnics were also organized.

The school showcased its Annual Cultural Program and Convocation in December.

Children did very well in their academics as well. In home examinations (up to class VII) school’s average was 65%. Students’ average attendance was 82% and teachers’ average attendance was 94%.

Students also worked for social cause. Class VI, VII, VIII students worked in a Literacy Mission – Each one Teach one.  The students spread awareness about Rain Water Harvesting among the villagers.
