Study Hall School celebrates Festival of ‘Democratic Citizenship Education. Over 17 Schools from the city participated in various competitive and non-competitive events.
Dr Urvashi Sahni says, “Education is a very powerful tool for social transformation. We don’t just educate our children for academic excellence; we educate them to become active democratic citizens.”
The main aim of this event was to raise awareness among the students and teachers regarding their constitutional rights and about the importance of democratic ideals, values, rights and responsibilities. Panel discussion was held on the topic – lessons of equality are as important as lessons of math and science. The students from different school voiced their opinions, the discussion concluded with – “that lessons of equality are as important as lessons of math and science but will only be effective if they are followed practically.” The event was followed by dance competition, debate, film-making, poetry writing, art competition,creative writing, soft board decoration and photography.
The overall winner of the ‘Festival of Democracy’ were La Martiniere Girls school and the first runners up were Prerna Girls School.
