Prerna Concert ends on an emotional note

The second and final day of the annual Prerna Concert – Chu Le Aasman – was headlined by chief guest Sutapa Sanyal and guest of honour Navneet Sikera.

The Art and crafts exhibitionnonce again saw overwhelming response from the crowd as almost all the paintings were bought by art enthusiasts.

Performances by students of class 6 to 12 of Prerna Girls and Boys School marked the day.

Welcoming guests to the concert the Principal of the Prerna Girls School said that Prerna is an endeavour to empower and educate the girls.

There after Dr Urvashi Sahni addressed the parents of the students and urged them to also work towards gender equality.

The highlights of the second day of the Prerna Concert included – play titled Malala by class 9 and 11, dance by class 6 students. Five other plays were also staged on the ocassion.

Aarohini, a play by the class 7 students was also a big crowd pleaser.

Addressing the gathering Ms Sanyal said that she was teary-eyed as she saw the performances.

She urged the parents not to discriminate between the boys and girls. She concluded the her speech by saying that if girls get the right opportunity they can achieve anything.

Mr Sikera said that we need to empower the girls in our houses so that in-turn our nation will become stronger.

This was followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Urvashi Sahni. She talked about how important it was for parents to attend the function and cheer their children.

The second day of the event would also have similar programs.
