“Lucknow State Level Swimming Championship 2016”
Students from Study Hall School – Mihir Singh Negi, Vaibhav Kakkar, Aryman Pal, Sachin Yadav, Emaneul Singh, Priyansh Agarwal, Yamini Naidu, Bhavya Singh and Suhani Gupta have been selected for Lucknow State Championship 2016 during the trials held at K. D. Singh Babu Stadium, Lucknow and will be representing the city in Meerut 11th – 13th June 2016 with their coach Mr.Arun Solomon.

City girl Neha Mishra – Study Hall, Gomtinagar, from humanities stream who scored 94.1% with 99 in history, 95 in political science, 91 in geography, 90 in English and 87 in fine arts took the first written round of NIFT in Lucknow and the second round at NIFT Rae Bareli.She has topped the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) entrance test for bachelor of design in the country. Neha scored 82.10 marks out of 100 in the results declared on Thursday.

PANEL DISCUSSION : “CHILD MARRIAGE—A MENACE”

India’s Daughters Campaign (IDC) is an annual girl’s rights campaign hosted by Study Hall Educational Foundation. The campaign over the last years has spearheaded and organised campaigns with schools across the state of Uttar Pradesh. These campaigns have focused on enrolling out of school girls back to school, advocate against the practice of early marriage, and created a safer world for women and girls.

This year India’s Daughter Campaign 2016 talks about Child Marriage as Slavery. It’s Going on in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan And West Bengal. It is to reach more than 1 Lakh Children and thus their Families, teachers, village etc.

Different Competitions are being held in Schools which talk about Writing letter to Prime minister, Writing poems, slogans, stories, essays , making posters , and at the end taking out rally to reach people and to take out signature campaign .

A panel discussion on India Daughter’s Campaign 2016 – ‘Child Marriage is slavery’ was conducted by Study Hall School on 5th May, 2016. Students from several schools- Jaipuria, Kasturba Gandhi Vidyalaya, Study Hall, Prerna Girls and Vidyasthali School participated.The senior panellists included – Dr. Hemlata Sharma (Member Study Hall Grandparents association), Shalini Chandra Head Pedagogy, and Principal Shalini Sinha.

Other eminent members of the foundation – Headmistress Mrs. Bani Malhotra, Rakhee Panjwani, Vice Principal Meenakshi Bahadur, Suparna Chatterjee along with students, parents and teachers were also present.

There was an intense discussion conducted by the moderators – on as to how child marriage impacts the society socially, politically and economically, what drives people to commit the condemnable act, how could the victims, especially girls, save themselves from this menace, and steps that could be taken to demolish the crime. Few of the panellists also talked about their parents’ experiences, who had been victims of this crime.

All panellists, members of the audience and guardians enthusiastically participated throughout and at the end came to the conclusion that child marriage is not only a threat to India, but to the whole world, and that hence it needs to be immediately eradicated—which can be done without fail by implementing the measures considered during the discussion.


                                                  Green UP, Clean UP
Six students from standard 11, Aruni Tripathi, Muskaan Singh, Sneha Srivastava, Angkrish Soti, Amaan Ali and Vatsal Tiwari took part in ‘Green UP Clean UP’ initiative of the state government under the guidance of the Principal of the school and Mrs. Anuradha Baijal and made a static model with 5 different ideas to make the state eco friendly. They were invited at the Times of India office in Lucknow for presenting their model once and then again for they managed to impress the judges with their innovative ideas and confidence and got selected in the Top 14 schools from all over Uttar Pradesh.
They were thereafter called by the Chief Minister on 21 May at the Indra Gandhi Pratishthan along with other participat schools to display their model infront of the CM.
